NPR’s coverage divorced the misery of Afghans from anything having to do with its audience, directing attention to the flaws in the Taliban rather than a violent US policy of deliberately starving the Afghan people.

Despite the positive spin endlessly put on these digital identity projects by governments and corporations, the fundamental outcome is that you will require a digital ID to do those particular things that the elite has decided you will be allowed to do.

My proposed solutions include dismantling the AAP and creating a new organization: resistant to political pressure, with the sole goal of promoting the well-being of children.
Harm to the national security isn’t even a consideration anymore. Now it’s just about punishment and about making a political point. Scrap the Espionage Act. Rewrite it the way it should be rewritten. And leave whistleblowers alone.
